The Windows 8 Developer preview download is just that, a preview of the Windows 8 operating system. The Windows 8 Developer Preview is a pre-beta version of Windows 8 for developers. These downloads include prerelease software that may change without notice. The software is provided as is, and you bear the risk of using it. It may not be stable, operate correctly or work the way the final version of the software will. It should not be used in a production environment. The features and functionality in the prerelease software may not appear in the final version. Some product features and functionality may require advanced or additional hardware, or installation of other software. The operating system running on a PC offers two interfaces Metro and Desktop and acts as a medium between the PC and a mobile device.

One great note about the latest Windows 8 preview is how quickly and smoothly it runs. Upon downloading it you’ll find it is very fast with great transition and little stalling which is very surprising for an early model download. Keep in mind windows is planning on using this for tablets as well meaning it has to be working perfectly with zero glitches, a huge plus for all of the PC users.

The Windows 8 download is available in a 32-bit version, 64-bit version or 64-bit version with developer tools. If you want the developer tools version you’ll have to perform an entire install but the Windows 7 or Vista users will be able to keep accounts and files on the installation.

We don’t recommend completely upgrading to the new download as it is new and there are always new problems and glitches arising. With that said it’s definitely something to check out and toy around with. Hit the link below for the Windows 8 installation download as well as the installation guide.

Note: You can’t uninstall the Windows 8 Developer Preview. To go back to your previous operating system, you must reinstall it from restore or installation media.
